Area Activities
Cedar Creek Lake was established in 1964 and is the 4th largest inland lake in
Texas with 38,000 water surface acres and 328 miles of shoreline. Surrounding
the lake are several small towns with restaurants and shops. Athens, home of the
Texas Fiddlers Contest and Reunion and the Texas Freshwater Fish Hatcheries, is
only a short drive away and Tyler, home of the Tyler Rose Gardens, is less than
an hour away. And, as mentioned earlier, Canton's First Monday Trades Day is
only a 40-minute drive away.
